10/20/2016 9 Comments Choice blog For this weeks blog, I have chosen to write about Crocs. When I was little, I used to have about 3 different pairs of Crocs, and my brother, mom and dad had them too. My mom still has her Crocs, but they don´t fit her anymore and they don´t fit me either or else I would have taken them. I remember when I was little I lost a pair of my Crocs so my dad took me to get some new ones, I got some pink ones with the little button attachment things you can put on them. Later that day, we went out on our boat and I wore my new Crocs, but then while we were on the boat one of my Crocs flew out of the boat, and the only other thing I remember about it is that I cried until my dad and I went to get new ones that same night.
Also, I have always been curious on how Crocs were made, or why they were made. Did someone one day just say ¨I think I am going to create some new rubbery thingy shoes, and call them Crocs¨ or was there some serious thought process within this? I at the moment do not own any pairs of Crocs because I grew out of all my old ones, but if I had one wish it would be to have a pair of Crocs in every color, but get my first pair blue. I hope this blog post inspires you all to get a pair of Crocs.

10/11/2016 0 Comments The Elevator1. What do you learn about the main character, Martin, in the exposition? In the exposition, I learned that Martin is a young, skinny boy that just moved into a new apartment with his father, and that Martin also feels uncomfortable in the apartment elevator. 3. What internal conflict is plaguing Martin in lines 81-84? The internal conflict plaguing Martin is Martin doesn´t want to take the elevator because of the old lady, so he considers the stairs. But he also doesn´t just want to chicken out because he doesn´t want to be worse than all the names other kids call him at school. 4. What details in lines 88-105 help to create suspense about what might happen? Some details that helped create suspense are when the author says the elevator starts to tremble and go up. Martin also says that her eyes were staring dead on at him and she was blinking slower than usual, on and off. 7. Judging only by line 175, the climax of the story, is Martin in danger? Explain your opinion. No, I do not think Martin is in danger judging by line 175 because nobody ever said that the lady in the elevator with him is a bad women, and nobody else sees her besides Martin so how does he know that she actually is real? And if she isn´t real, how could she harm him? 8. The author ends this story at the climax. What is your opinion of the plot's development and of leaving the conflict unresolved? Explain. I personally don´t really like the way the author ended the story, at the climax. I don´t like it because I am the type of person that doesn´t like to be left in suspense, and that is exactly what this author did. I think its important to be able to make big decisions as a president. The reason I think this is because if you are controlling a whole country, you have to be able to make decisions that will be best for the whole country, not just one little part of it. If you don´t know how to make a smart decision for the country, there is a lot of bad things that could happen so that is very important.
Another important thing in a president is being smart. If you are president, you have to smart in many ways, such as economically, being able to handle all of the money and taxes, and being people smart, being able to handle the bad people, (like ISIS) It is also important to be able to put other people before yourself. If you are president, you are in control of a whole country, like I said earlier. You can not just do whatever you want because it will be best for your friends and family, it has to be best for the country. Now it might not always be best for every single person in the country, but my point is you can´t just be making decisions and doing things just for yourself. ps- I know we are supposed to do three but I have a fourth, you have to be young enough to be able to run the country for the full four years, (or 8) without dying because you are too old and all of the pressure makes you die earlier. But you also have to be old enough to be well respected. |
