1) Some similarities between Night and The Boy in the Striped Pajamas are that they both had Nazi propaganda in them, making it seem like the camps are more enjoyable then they actually are. Another example on how they´re similar is that the main character in both stories is a young boy, but a difference in that is Ellie, the main character in Night was a Jew and he was in the concentration camps, fully understanding everything that was going on. But Bruno, the main character in The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas was the son of a solider, and thought the camps were a place of fun where they wore pajamas and played all day, he had no idea what was actually going on inside there. Another difference is that in Night, there was no mentioning of Ellie having any interaction with people not in concentration camps, there was not a way for him to communicate with the outside world, but Bruno was able to go to the fences and talk with his friend Schmuel that was in the concentration camp without getting caught.
2) Bruno, the character in The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas was 8 years old, and he had brown hair and blue eyes. Bruno always wanted to explore and he wanted to become an explorer when he became a grown up. He knew about the Holocaust and the camps, but he did not fully understand what was going on in there, even though he always wanted to know. Bruno was very sensitive and caring to everyone, even to strangers, and that didn´t always put him in the best positions. But with Ellie, a character in Night, he did understand what was going on in the camps because he was in one, along with his father. he was 15 years old but he was told to lie about his age so he would appear as a good worker. Ellie never gave up even though he had his moments of thinking it was over. He fought for himself, and for his father who later died. The concentration camps took away almost everything from Ellie, including his faith in god. 3) My understanding of the Holocaust has become way clearer after reading Night and watching the movie. I knew very little about the Holocaust before we started this unit, but now I understand more about it. I learned that the age range for Jews to work in camps was about 15-40, and that the Women and people who were too old or injured to work would go directly to death camps and crematoriums. 4) I liked the movie The Boy in the Stripped Pajamas better than the book Night because I like movies more than books, but I also thought the movie was just a little bit more interesting than the book. 5) I have no other questions about the Holocaust
